有蓝绿色的齿。 成鱼通常黑色或蓝黑色的, 与头部的鳞片中央与不覆有鳞片部份淡蓝色, 与在眼之间的蓝色条纹。 在加勒比海的唯一大黑色或蓝黑色的鹦哥鱼.
