可区别的藉由有被后部融合成在臀鳍与尾鳍上延伸的不规则的斜纹的很多的小黑色的斑点 (在身体前半部中). 在胸鳍基底在有一个方面除了 C. lopis 以外有别于所有的其他种大的圆黑色的斑点。 在 C. blanci 中，胸的基部斑点出现在像 6 公分那样小的稚鱼而且保有整个生命期.
